It's been an interesting first week here. It's been great being able to ministry and worship with the Okinawan people. This weekend was Obon, a holiday where ancestor spirits come back and visit their families. The families prepare food for their ancestors during the evening meal, and also then worship their ancestors. It was definately a weekend that was heavy in spiritual warfare. It's amazing that when Japanese decide to become follow Christ, they face being thrown out of their houses, being shunned by their families and losing their inheritance. Yet there are so many that have given their lives to Christ even though they would lose so much.
